This Is What Happens When You Leave Your Cat with a Photographer Friend

What happens when you leave your cat with a friend who happens to be a photographer is it will get a professional cat photoshoot at no additional cost.

Miranda McDonald recently asked Josell Mariano to take care of her kitten, Jade, while she is away on some business. Josell agreed to help out as a good friend but had other things on his mind than cleaning up the cat litter and refilling the food dish. He decided to go a step further and arrange for Jade to be the subject of an enviable photoshoot, which she graciously accepted.

“My buddy is a photographer for musicians, and she went on tour for Julia Micheals and Bea Miller for two months, so I had Jade the entire time,” Josell explained in an interview. “She is so sweet!” She climbs on the bed every morning for pets and hugs, and she does the same thing before we go to bed at night. She spends the rest of the day following me around from room to room, mostly sleeping in a sunbeam. Loud noises, gentle noises, quick motions, and gradual movements all worry her.”

Josell says he adores cats and regards them as “lovely fuzzy buddies” to watch television.

Of course, this was no ordinary smartphone photoshoot — Josell went above and beyond with a professional camera, lenses, and studio lighting! On the other hand, the photographer claims that capturing Jade was difficult. “Jade was a better model than I expected,” Josell added, “but she was still quite wiggly.” “She was kept occupied by treats and her favourite toy (a broken thread on a stick).”
