Ashraful Arefin is a Fine Art Photographer from Dhaka, Bangladesh. Street photography is one of his go-to genres in his photography journey. We at Fotomated noticed that he always tries to capture the streets in their natural form, without looking for strange and funny things or coincidences. He consistently portrays the big picture of the life of the streets, without focusing on tiny details. So his particular street photography collection is basically an authentic photo essay of that place. Being good at street photography is not easy as we all can understand how hard it is. Having an insanely vivid & creative imagination, being at the perfect spot at the ideal angle at the perfect time and being fast enough to capture the frame in milliseconds to set an emotion or to convey a message is not a joke. Street photography is whole another level of photography where the photographer is not allowed to compose & set lighting, and where the subjects do not wait for the shot to be captured. It is a situation where the photographer is on their own and the subjects do not cooperate at all. Hence, some additional set of skills is required to be a street photographer than general photography skills, such as extreme quickness, being always ready, being patient, and improvisation. Unlike most other genres of photography, street photographers should possess some intense additional skills to become successful in the field. In other genres, the photographer can plan the shoot, direct the subjects, set up the lighting, check the camera settings, take time as long as the shot is perfect and most importantly take another shot if the first one does not fit the expectation.
