Comedy Pet Photo Awards is brought to life in 2020 by the same creators of the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards, Paul Joynson-Hicks & Tom Sullam. The competition is taking place with the goal of encouraging people to support animal welfare charities. The pet lovers seem to deeply appreciate both the mission of the awards and the submitted photographs. And it is no wonder given how funny and adorable those pets are.

This year also, pet owners from around the world have submitted their pet’s hilarious moments for the competition. On 21st July, the awards team has announced the finalists of the 2022 competition (26 photographs and 4 videos). The image quality of these photographs is not up to the quality of the ones from a typical photography competition, for obvious reasons. Most of them are captured spontaneously using smartphones by pet lovers. The moment is worth way more than the image quality.
The winner will take home an amount of £2,000 ($2,505). Parallel to the awards, the sponsor of the competition, Animals Friends Pet Insurance will donate £35,000 ($43,840) to selected pet and animal welfare charitable organizations. Plus the winner gets to name a charity to receive a donation of another £5,000 ($6,260), from the sponsor.
