No matter how much we dislike, getting old is an inevitable truth we all have to face. Money, power, fame or anything else can’t help us to get rid of getting old, even though some believe they do. But, we all have a choice in that case. We can either choose to let our ‘mind’ be old along with the body also or to be young inside the mind irrespective of the body being old. For the people who can be young in their mind, getting old is not much of a problem.
Tom Hussey is a lifestyle photographer who is specialized in commercial advertising. He once met a WWII veteran named Gardner, who is about to celebrate his 80th birthday. Gardner told Tom that he couldn’t believe that he was about to be 80 years old and he still felt like a young man. Inspired by that statement, Tom created a bathroom setup and shot a photograph of Gardner looking at the mirror and seeing his 25-year-old younger self inside the mirror.
A few years later an ad agency contacted him after seeing this image. They wanted to run a complete marketing campaign using this concept, for an Alzheimer drug. Tom took the assignment and it turned out to be an extremely successful marketing campaign. He composed each and every photograph very carefully and they came out as masterpieces. The campaign is named ‘Reflections of the Past’.
