Dmitry Kokh is a wildlife and underwater photographer who is based in Moscow, Russia. His crew was sailing a yacht along the coast and the captain decided to stop at a small island (Kolyuchin) looking for a shelter, due to bad weather. Kolyuchin was the polar weather station for the Soviet Union. The station was shut down in 1992, but the buildings on the island are still in the place. Dmitry Kokh mentions "The stormy wind, rain, and neglected buildings on the rocky shores all served to make everything happening seem surreal. Suddenly, we noticed movement in the windows of the houses. Someone took out some binoculars and we saw the heads of polar bears!" That is whe...

Minimalist Street Photography – 24 Moody Street Photographs

Street Photography
Street photography is whole another level of photography where the photographer is not allowed to compose & set lighting, and where the subjects do not wait for the shot to be captured. It is a situation where the photographer is on their own and the subjects do not cooperate at all. Street photographs are often so busy, obviously because that is how the streets are almost all the time. They are crowded, filled with so many details and contain a lot of emotions. But this French photographer, Jose Antoine Costa, seems to seek otherwise. He might like things to be calm, slow and minimal. That is...
