The shortlisted finalists of Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards 2023 were announced recently. For those who are not familiar with the contest, it is a much-awaited, out-of-the-ordinary wildlife photography contest that could crack you up easily. Instead of typical wildlife photographs, what is awarded here are hilarious frames of our beloved animal friends. Having been initiated in 2015, the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards has become a major item on the photography calendar by now.
From thousands of entries, the judges have shortlisted 41 photographs as the finalists and the best from the Video and Portfolio categories. Even though it looks like it is all about joy and humour, the organizers’ intention of having the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards is much deeper. They want to grab the attention of a wider audience to highlight the issues that animals are facing and the vital necessity of increasing conservation efforts.

The winners will be declared on November 23rd. If you would like, you can vote for your favourite photograph for the Affinity Photo People’s Choice Award. And one lucky voter has the chance to win £500.
Further, if you would also like to enter the 2024 edition of the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards, the entries will be opened in March.
