Sand Dunes are one of the favourite subjects of landscape photographers, and we all can understand why. With correct exposure and framing, sand dunes can create elegant and majestic sights with a unique mood belonging to themselves.
But the thing is, all the photographphs of sand dunes we are seeing have the same perspective, which is obviously the perspective of a wide lens from the ground some distance away from the dune. But, Tom Hegen, a German photographer shows us a different perspective of these things. His amazing aerial photographs of Namibian sand dunes shows us the unique view of them from the top.

We knew that the first thought comes to your mind is these are drone shots, but they are not. They are taken from a professional camera from a helicopter above the Namibian deserts. That is why they are so sharp and vibrant.
The abstract shapes of these sand dunes is tremendously interesting sight for the eyes. The photographer has carefully selected the time of shooting to make the sunlight create shadows, without capturing them flat when the sun is directly above the desert. The shadows has a huge impact on the photographs and they set the mood.
